Sports Equipment
Air Canada will only accept pre-registered sports equipment, however this does not guarantee that Air Canada will be able to accommodate each item on your flight. Passengers should reconfirm their Sports Equipment registration with the airport check-in agent at time of check-in.
Air Canada charge an additional checked baggage charge for Sports equipment over and above the free baggage allowance. However, oversize and/or additional piece charges will be waived only for the following items - broomball/curling broom, fishing rod and rod case, golf clubs, hockey/lacrosse/ringette, hockey/lacrosse/ringette stick, skis and snowboard, skis and snow boots.
Air Canada does not accept the following sport equipment as checked baggage because of their dimensions - Bobsleighs, Canoes, Hang gliders, Kayaks, Luges, Paddleboards, Pole vaults, Skeleton sleds, Windsurfing equipment.Air Canada does accept the following sporting equipment as checked baggage, however please check their website for specific details as restrictions may apply - Archery equipment, Bicycles, Broomball/curling equipment, Fishing equipment, Golf clubs, Hockey/lacrosse/ringette equipment, Kiteboards, boogie boards, skim and speed boards, Racquets (badminton, squash, tennis), Scuba diving equipment, Skis, skates, and snowboards, Sport balls (inflatable) and bowling balls, Surfboards.
